Questions worth asking
Corporate responsibility, citizenship, first-year teaching, and the patient work of analysis.
My undergraduate years at the University of Wisconsin–Madison connected political science, history, international political economy, and business. I earned a BA with Comprehensive Honors, edited the Wisconsin Undergraduate Journal of Politics, and chaired Pi Sigma Alpha.
Responsible Riches grew out of a historical question: how have people argued about the responsibilities of business? The original honors thesis is here in full, alongside my earlier essay on citizenship and liberal education.
Teaching and student support were part of the same period. I co-taught a freshman seminar, designed interactive presentations, graded work, and helped students find their footing at the university. In admissions and orientation, the work also meant answering practical questions and making a large institution easier to navigate.
Later study brought finance, statistics, and data analysis into that foundation. I completed an MBA focused on finance, the Google Data Analytics program, and further study in R, Python, SQL, and data science. I completed approximately two-thirds of the coursework toward an MS in Data Analytics; the degree was not completed.

Counseling Psychology 125 Teaching Assistant (Center for the First Year Experience)
- Co-taught a 12-student freshman seminar on university success.
- Designed interactive presentations and provided one-to-one student support.
- Graded papers and assignments and determined final grades.
Senior Honors Thesis Researcher
Completed a senior honors thesis examining intellectual debates over corporate social responsibility. Conducted historical research, developed analytical arguments, and participated in peer review.
New Student Leader (Center for the First Year Experience)
Led campus tours, answered questions from students and parents, and facilitated discussions with groups of 10–20 students on academic success, diversity, and personal responsibility. Participant evaluations reported 100% positive feedback.
Transfer and Re-entry Admissions Assistant (Office of Undergraduate Admissions)
- Supported the transition to paperless application processing.
- Entered and reviewed transfer and reentry applications, working with professional staff through seasonal admissions processes.
- Trained professional and student staff in data handling and application processing.
